I started with the journey of leasing an apartment. There are four critical phases in the whole experience. The most frustrating one is getting information about the apartment rentals. When the data is limited, the renter feels disappointed. On the contrary, the renter feels overwhelmed if there is a lot of information.

As the information provider, we connect the renters and the apartments. However, we are unauthorized to present their official information when we haven't established partnerships with the business.

I listed all essential information for an apartment listing. To have a better understanding, I made a visual expression next to the list. The page is filled with information that renters would like to know.

if I eliminate the official information, there are only three categories left. The listings page becomes nearly empty if there is only unofficial information.

🧭 DIRECTION

I decided to focus on Ratings& Reviews and Q&A because the competitive analysis indicated that all competitors provided rich and diverse neighborhood information. So, the remaining two have more potential for increasing values, which make up the renters community.

HOW DID I GET THE ENSSENTIAL INFO?

I did a competitive analysis focusing on three main competitors to learn the standard information they provided. With the learnings, I conducted a survey to understand what information is essential for renters.
